Hi, the most impressive engine you may or may not have heard of is the Mercury JP engine built for the navy that runs JP5. Bassed on the mercury optimax 250HP, it produces 185HP on JP5 and also like the evinrude will run on a selection of fuels. G

Hi John - Simon, Krill and other monitoring systems are seriously valuable, and seriously expensive. But as more and more electronics and smart-systems manufacturers include NMEA 2000 data bus capability in their products, we can expect to see more monitoring systems on all yachts. Fundamentally, I agree with you, but I would tweak your wish list item to reflect the requirement that these companies need to more quickly adopt the new data bus standards. It's been too long already and still there are devices out there being delivered to the older standards.

The Evinrude seems like a great outboard! I agree on the fuel issue. Much less of a hazard than gasoline. Some diesel tenders are available. Real Ships has one on the deck of the 77' on their web site. Can I add a wish list item? How about the Simon system being offered on more boats or yachts ? Would make things easier for a cruising couple.
